Forgotten, 2019

As the world around us changes it leaves geological footprints in the ground, telltale signs of our environmental damage, for future generations and scientists to study. As a young person in 2019, I felt deeply connected to my environment and to the effects of climate change.

This photogram series was started when I noticed the huge amounts of plastic waste in the water and soil at Hackney Marshes. I began to visualise future cross sections of soil filled with rubbish, and from that I decided I would create a series of photograms using the plastic I collected from the area. They act as a bleak reminder and warning for what our future might hold.
